Summary
JINU is a personal-finance app for iPhone. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything you enter stays on your device and (optionally) syncs to your own private iCloud through Apple's encrypted CloudKit service.
There is no JINU account, no signup, no login, no server we operate, and no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs inside the app.
What JINU stores, and where
| Data |
Where it lives |
Who can see it |
| Your name, project names, line items, balance-sheet figures, valuation assumptions |
On your iPhone in the app's private sandbox (SwiftData / SQLite). Encrypted at rest by iOS when you have a device passcode set. |
Only you - only this app can read its own sandbox. |
| Uploaded invoice PDFs and images |
Same sandbox, in external blob storage attached to each invoice record. |
Only you. |
| The same data (when iCloud is on) |
Your private CloudKit database, hosted by Apple, end-to-end secured to your Apple ID. |
Only you. Apple cannot read it; we cannot read it. |
| Your typed name (cross-device sync) |
iCloud Key-Value Store, scoped to your Apple ID. |
Only you. |
What JINU does not do
- We do not send any data to our servers — we don't operate any.
- We do not include third-party analytics (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Adjust, AppsFlyer, etc.).
- We do not include advertising SDKs.
- We do not track your activity inside or outside the app.
- We do not share, sell, or rent your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not access your contacts, location, microphone, camera (except via the system file picker when you upload an invoice), or any other private data.
- We do not use your data to train any machine learning model.
What permissions JINU asks for, and why
- Files / Photos - only when you tap Upload Invoice in the Invoices section. The system file picker hands the file back to JINU; the OS, not JINU, decides what files the picker shows.
- Face ID / Touch ID - only when you turn on App Lock in Projects → Settings. Authentication happens locally on your device.
- iCloud — required for cross-device sync of your data. You can disable it in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → JINU.
- Notifications (silent push) - used solely to wake the app for CloudKit sync. JINU never sends user-visible notifications.
